Welcome to SPSD

We welcome you to our agency's site, and hope to answer as many of your questions as possible.

The Spartanburg Public Safety Department (SPSD), under the leadership of Director Tony Fisher, is the City's largest department with approximately 250 employees. It is comprised of Law Enforcement, Fire Divisions and Technical Support. The jurisdiction of the department spans approximately 20 square miles. Spartanburg's law enforcement and fire services professionals serve a residential population of more than 39,000, which swells to a daytime population that exceeds 125,000.

The Spartanburg Public Safety Department is responsible for providing a safe environment for all members of the community. We seek to provide services that are responsive to the needs of the community. This requires the maintenance of open communication between the community and our public safety teams.

Our website provides information concerning our agency and our services. You will be able to find general information about our department, as well as information on the various functions of the department, crime statistics, annual report, and other related materials.
