Citizen’s Public Safety Academy

Understanding the criminal justice system is a major concern to all law abiding citizens.  Having a dialogue with the people we are sworn to protect is one of the Spartanburg Public Safety Department’s primary concerns.  The Citizens Public Safety Academy helps to convey the concerns of both the citizens and the Spartanburg Public Safety Department by addressing the questions and views of both groups.  Just a few hours …one night per week…for twelve (12) weeks citizens have the opportunity to interact with police officers, firefighters, and other select guest speakers.  Citizens are also able to share their ideas and concerns (one on one) that affect their communities.  Upon the completion of the class students receive a certificate and recognition at a graduation banquet held in their honor.
