Narcotics, Vice & Organized Crime

The Spartanburg Public Safety Department’s Narcotics/Vice/Organized Crime Unit is tasked with disrupting vice operations and the flow of illegal drugs into the city of Spartanburg. The unit meets this challenge by utilizing partnerships developed with other local law enforcement agencies, federal agencies, the 7th Circuit Solicitor’s Office, and the United States Attorney’s Office.

Those assigned to the unit conduct investigations of local street level distributors of narcotics up to and including organizations responsible for multiple kilogram levels of illegal drugs. Many of these organizations originate outside the state of South Carolina and reach as far as California, Texas, North Carolina and New York.

Within the past several years, these investigations have resulted in indictments of over one hundred individuals responsible for hundreds of kilograms of illegal drugs that found their way to the communities of Spartanburg.
