Technical Support personnel are responsible for the networking of existing and future computer equipment, planning and providing necessary tools (PCs, laptoSPO Frank Sexton checks one of the computer servers.ps, printers, scanners, etc) that fit the users’ needs within the department, providing continuous in-house training to keep staff abreast of changes and new opportunities, providing a centralized area for information storage and retrieval, and maintaining a website to provide up to date information for the public.

In 2007, Technical Support Services obtained and installed two mass storage devices to augment our network storage capabilities, successfully implemented a wireless in-car camera system to replace our fleet’s VHS recording cameras, worked in conjunction with the City of Spartanburg’s IT Department to install wireless cameras (viewable remotely) that continually scan and record activity on Morgan Square and the bike/walking trail, worked with the Detention Center to provide our Prisoner Transport personnel access to their inmate information system, and provided in-car access to the myriad tools available through the internet, while also implementing a virus protection scheme.
